WWE Smackdown 3/8/2024

We see The Rock and Roman arrive, both with security. We see Cody arrive with Seth Rollins. They talk to Nick Aldis, who also has security.
Logan Paul comes out to talk. Logan said he's a conqueror and complained about the "what" chants. He said he didn't join WWE to take part, he joined it to take over. He said everything he touches turns to gold and nobody can garner attention like him.
He said the company is doing the best it has ever done since he joined. He said he is the secret sauce and WWE is booming. He then reveals his drink's logo is on the mat, saying it's the first ever center ring sponsor. He said it will be Mania and every PLE from now on.
He brings out KSI. They take a photo together and Randy Orton's music plays. Orton comes out from under the ring. He goes to RKO Logan but Logan avoids it. KSI doesn't see him and then is RKO'd. Orton then takes Logan's drink. He says it's very good then pours it on KSI.
Kevin Owens and Randy Orton vs Austin Theory and Grayson Waller
Owens side headlocks Theory then shoulders him over. Theory leapfrogs then is armdragged. Theory hits punches on Owens then takes a back elbow and senton. Waller and Orton get in. Waller goes for a kick but slips on it or gets eye poked. Orton hits corner punches then punches Theory off the apron.
Theory tags in. Owens hits corner lariats on him then Theory rolls in from the apron for a dropkick. Waller nails Orton on the apron then slides out and lariats Owens. The heels pose as we go to break.
We return from break. Theory hits punches on Owens then Owens takes a double suplex. Waller goes for the RKO on Owens but is shoved off. Orton gets in and hits lariats then a powerslam on Waller. Orton is pulled down throat first over the top rope and Owens apron cannonballs Theory. Orton grabs Waller by the nose then bridging ddt's him over the 2nd rope.
Waller rolls up Orton for 2 and punches him. Owens stunners Waller then pops up Theory into an RKO. Orton pins Theory and wins it.
It was an okay tag. Not great or anything but they kept it moving and the finish was nice here. This was a good opener.
Logan Paul jumps Owens and Orton after. Paul grabs the brass knucks but Logan ducks a shot. Orton almost hits Owens but they pound fists.
Bayley is interviewed. She said she's hanging on by a thread and said things have felt weird for so long. She questions what was real. She said Kai used their history against her and she fell for it. She said she did the things she did for her and Dakota and now she pays for it. She said she is all alone now. She said she's been in the spot she's been in for so long though and can attempt. She said she built Damage Ctrl with her heart and will do everything in her soul to break them.
Naomi's watching Bayley's interview. Bianca Belair asks why. Naomi said she feels bad and Bianca said Bayley's in the same position she put herself in. Naomi said she knows how she feels but Bianca said she wasn't here. Bianca said Bayley would have come for her too if she was here. Bianca said she made her bed and now has to lay in it.
Karrion Kross vs Bobby Lashley
Bobby clubs Kross then corner lariats him. Bobby suplexes him then lariats him out. Bobby is sent into the post. We go to break and return. Kross is in control then hits boots in the corner. Kross exploders him then chinlocks him. Kross lariats him over the top.
Bobby lariats him on the floor then rams him into the post. Kross death valley drivers him for 2. Bobby spinebusters him then The AOP run in.
AOP beat up Bobby then The Street Profits join in. The SP's and The AOP fight. The AOP are knocked out of the ring. Ford gets caught on a plancha then Dawkins dives on them and knocks them over.
Scarlett gets in Bobby's way then B-Fab hits Scarlett. B-Fab chases her out. Lashley puts the hurt lock on Kross then AOP jump him. Lashley takes a 3v1 and Kross does a final prayer ddt on him.
The match wasn't that great. These guys just didn't gel and had issues working with each other, then it had a dirty finish.
Dragon Lee is on the phone. Elektra Lopez asks him who he is talking to and asks if he was on the phone with Rey. Santos walks in. She asks him if he thinks he will be the next Rey Mysterio. Humberto said he's a wannabe like others. Angel Garza laughs. Santos says Rey and the LWO are gone. He says the present and the future are Legado del Fantasma. Santos says he's nothing then Lee gets pushed.
Tiffany Stratton vs Michin
Tiff has a new outfit on with checkered flags. Michin backslides her then Tiff throws her backwards. Michin's head is banged off the buckles then Tiff handspring, backflip back elbows Michin. Tiff double stomps her for 2.
Tiff backdrops her hen hip attacks her on the ropes. Michin suplexes her then takes an alabama slam. Tiff hits the prettiest moonsault ever and wins it.
It was a quick one. Michin's offense didn't look that good here and the winner wasn't really in doubt.
AJ Styles does a promo. He said he saw LA Knight walk around like he owned the place when he doesn't deserve to be in the same locker room as him. He said he thought his schtick was funny until he stole his momentum. AJ said it's a cut throat place to be. He said he's a loudmouth in need of humbling, and he's a phenomenal choice for the job.
LA is watching this on a TV in the back. He then chairs the TV, calling AJ "The Boring One". This was a weird segment.
Angel vs Dragon Lee
Lee shotgun dropkicks him then dropkicks him in the corner. Lee hits combinacion cabron then dropkicks him in the corner. Angel leapfrogs and holds his knee. Angel then dropkicks him. Angel running knees him, knocking him off the apron to the floor.
We go to break and return. Lee sitout powerbombs Angel then enzugiri's him. Angel hangs from the top and Lee hits a double stomp. Lee tope con hilos Angel and Santos. Angel superkicks him then Lee hurricanrana's him off a powerbomb attempt.
It was a fast paced and decent match with lots of lying and nice moves.
The LWO jump Lee after. Lee takes a triple powerbomb.
Damage Ctrl do a promo. Kai said she has always been the brains of Damage Ctrl. Sane said if Bayley was so smart, she should have seen it coming sooner. Iyo said she was never part of the vision and it was the Iyo Era from Day 1. Kai says she will see her in the ring next week.
Aldis looks for Seth and Cody in their locker room and can't find them.
The Bloodline come out, then The Rock makes a separate entrance.
Roman says greatness stands before you now and says to acknowledge us. Cody and Seth come in through the crowd. We go to break and return.
Cody says he knows it's tense and there's bad blood. He said he feels lucky to be standing in the ring. He said the four of them should take a minute and feel this. Cody asks Rock if he has the authority to make the stipulation. He said he asks that because he acknowledged Roman as his tribal chief.
Rock tells him to shut his mouth. He then tells Seth to shut his mouth before he starts talking. Rock said he acknowledged Roman as a tribal chief because it's what family does. Rock goes over the stipulation. The crowd chants "diarrhea" at Rock and Seth dances, loving it. Rock says when they beat them on Night 1, it's Bloodline Rules, anything goes. He says he will do everything to make sure Cody doesn't walk out universal champ. Seth then tells Rock "will you shut the h3ll up?". Seth said they know the stakes and the future of the industry is on the line. he calls Rock Mr. Mid-Life Crisis. He tells Rock he had has time and can't take theirs. Seth says they accept.
Roman laughs and asks if Cody will let him answer for him. He says he must be an idiot and be from Texas or something. He asks if he will let this crossdresses make decisions for him. He said when he beats Cody, that's it. He doesn't get another shot and it's over. Rock calls Seth a walking clown emoji. Rock says he's a board member and both their bosses. Rock said Cody won't get a shot again if he loses. Rock says him and Roman are family.
Rock says Cody is the youngest of 3 and his sister was a Cowboys cheerleader. He said his brother is a Hall of Famer and 20 years older than him, because Cody was a mistake. Cody slaps Rock and the show ends before the segment does.
There's no excuse for the final segment getting cut off. It's one of the most important segments of the year and it got ruined because they just had to get Legado del Fantasma on there. There's just no excuse for it and this is something that would have never happened under Vince. It was a good segment though with Seth showing up big.
Overall thoughts: It wasn't the greatest show ever. The opener was okay. The Lashley/Street Profits vs Kross and AOP feud just isn't working and tonight was example of its failures. Tiff won in a squash and Lee/Angel was okay. The main event segment was good, but it was cut off in total amateur hour fashion which is just inexcusable.
